Nori Rolls! February 20, 2012

This is a super fast and simple recipe and easy to take with you! Nori will bring you many minerals and has many health benefits… something a regular wrap does not have! Instead of using a flour wrap that has nothing to offer, use something that will actually add something positive to your well being!

Ingredients:

- 1 Nori Sheet

- Tahini

- Bell Pepper (not green! these are unripe and very harsh!)

- Avocado

- Sprouts

- Watercress

- Cucumber

- Favorite green

- Hot pepper (optional)

Lay nori sheet so shiny side is face up. Spread a thin layer of tahini on the sheet , especially on the edge. This will be your glue! Towards the opposite edge  of the sheet lay your greens down, followed by slices of the vegetables. I usually lay down the avocado first and add the peppers and cucumber. Top with sprouts and watercress. Now to roll it up! Start by folding one end of the nori over the food in it.  Tightly begin to roll it up and seal with the tahini. Cut with a serrated knife and dip in your favorite sauce! These are incredibly filling due to the high vitamin and mineral content!

This is incredibly tasty, way better than eggs, and better for you!

Ingredients:

-1 cup sunflower seeds

- 1 cup Almonds

- 2 tbspn Turmeric

- 2 tbspn EVOO

- salt to taste

- veggies of choice (i used green/red peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, scallions and broccoli)

- Spinach leaves

- i also added Cayenne pepper.

- use some Green Sauce to top it off!

Put sunflower seeds, salt, EVOO and turmeric in FP and pulsate. add around 1/4 cup water so that it sticks together but still has texture. This is your “egg” base. Chop your veggies and put them in a bowl along with the “eggs”. mix it together. Serve over a bed of spinach or you can mix the spinach right in. If you would like to wilt the spinach, put it in a bowl with some EVOO and salt for a few hours.

(the base of this recipe is from Ani’s kitchen)

- Pour the apples into the pie crust.

-Spread out the dough you have set aside on a teflex sheet and spread it out. Flip over the teflex sheet on top of the pie and peel back.

PANCAKES!!!! May 19, 2010

super soft, and has way more of the amount of daily fiber you need in one day! I think these are better than the real thing!

ingredients:

- 3 cups of flax meal (i kept 1/2 of a cup unground because i like the crunch of them. Also, using golden flax will give more of a “pancake” color)

- 2 tbspn coconut oil (liquid)

- 1/2 cup maple syrup (or you can use dates, 5 or 6)

- fruit to top them off!

Mix all ingredients in a bowl except the fruit. Form into balls and flatten into pancakes.

If using dates, mix all ingredients in FP.  Throw some chopped fruit right in if you’d like to make a fruit flavored pancake!!

These are incredibly filling and so tasty. I prefer these over the processed flower pancakes any day!

If you would like you can put them in the dehydrator for a bit to make them more forming and warm.

I found this recipe in Ani’s Uncook book.

Friendly Sushi!! April 15, 2010

The judges say this is better than the nori roll. you will go nuts upon consumption.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup hemp seeds. (i suppose you could use chia as well)

- 1 tbs Brown Rice Syrup

-1/4 cup water

-1 tbs dulse or dried seaweed.. which i thinks its pretty  much the same.

- Nori wrapper

- Carrots

-1.5 cup cashew

- Oil

-Salt

-cayenne

-2 small pieces onion

-nama shoyu

To make Rolls:

Place 1 cup cashews, dulse, oil, salt, and onion in FP. Start pouring in water to make a paste like consistency. this is your friendly fish.

In a bowl mix hemp seeds with the brown rice syrup so it becomes sticky like rice. Spread it on nori sheet, shiny side down.

Put friendly fish and shredded carrot in the center.

Roll it up, seal it with more syrup. Make sauce while letting it settle so it will stay together.

Sauce:

put half cup of cashews with 1/2 cup water (slowly add water) a splash of nama shoyu and some cayenne into FP.

BAGELS and CREAM CHEESE!!! April 6, 2010

these are so jam packed with fiber, i could hardly finish one! soooo good!

Ingredients:

Bagels:

-3/4 cup sunflower seeds

-1/3 cup flax seeds

-1/4 of a  chopped red onion (or less if your not a fan of onion!)

- a minced garlic clove

- water

-seasonings (i used garlic powder and some dill, and also added some poppy and sesame seeds!)

-place the first 2 ingredients into the FP until a powder is formed.  i added a little more flax after so there would be whole ones in the dough. Add the  spices, onion, and garlic and pulse it a few times so it is evenly spread throughout the mixture. slowly add a little bit of water until you get a very sticky dough.  form patties and poke a whole in the center! Place on mesh dehydrator trays and put in dehydrator 105 degrees. time will depend on how crunchy you like your bagels and how thick you made them. mine were pretty thick and i like them crispy so they were in the for a little over 12 hours.

Cream Cheese:

-2 cups cashews

-3 tbspn Olive oil

-1/4 cup lemon juice

- water

- scallions (thats what i like in my cream cheese.. and whatever you want.. i bet strawberries would be awesomeee!)

-Put all ingredients in FP except water. After a minute, add water until you reach your desired consistency!
