Eye Of Raw

A Dedication to the Wonderful World of RAW!

Goji’s Story December 14, 2010

So here is a short cap on my personal story.

When I was younger, i was never really interested in health. I guess you could say it was the exact opposite. I was constantly pushing my body to limits to see how much it could handle, but not in a good way.

I traveled around the United States over the course of a few years and learned a lot in my travels. When coming back to the New York area , I took a job as a receptionist in an organic hair salon, Hair Habitat. Every morning on my way in I would get a coffee from Strong Hearts Cafe on my way in.  Strong Hearts is a vegan café that has a ton of information on where our food comes from. One day i picked up one of their pamphlets and my eyes were open. I began to do my own research and shortly after i turned completely vegan.

My parents were always into health, and i started actually paying attention to what they were saying. I then was introduced to the movie Food Matters, where they had health professionals speaking about the cure-all raw food diet. One of these professionals was David Wolfe. As soon as i heard him speaking everything in my head clicked. I knew this was the way of life for me. I told myself that i was going to be just like him– completely healthy looking and spreading the knowledge on raw food to everyone– I wanted everyone healthy!

From that day on i transformed myself onto a raw food diet and never looked back. I feel amazing and never want to feel any other way. I am keeping my promise to myself… I am constantly studying and spreading the word on the benefits of raw food to anyone who will let me.

During my journey I also really got into making raw creations. I LOVE inventing new raw recipes, but even more i think i love feeding them to people! Knowing that they are eating healthy foods makes me happy!

So, how did i get my nick name– Goji? Well, i am completely obsessed with them. They are the most nutritionally dense fruit in the world and have so many benefits. I think everyone should be eating them! The Goji berry provides the body with all the nutrients it needs to heal itself. I constantly have them on me, its very rare you will catch me with out some!

As I continue on my journey, i would love to help you start yours! 100% raw is not for everyone, but any percent is better than zero! This is not a diet, or a way of restriction, this is an amazing, enchanting way of life! You will never be the same again after you begin your transformation. Give it a try, I promise you wont regret it!

Infinite Love,

Goji

I have recently became interested in the raw food diet. I did a juice detox for 3 weeks and want to stay healthy. I could use some help in getting things started. Such as alternatives to what I eat now. We (my boyfriend and I) love mexican food. Lots of cheese and salsa and chips and sour cream. What can i do about a cheese alternative for tacos, etc? Also, it’s getting cold in NH, first major storm today. I don’t know how I am going to do raw and just cold foods. Is there anything I can do to get a little warmth in my belly?

    Thanks so much.

Wow! This is inspirational! I came across your blog while searching for information on energizing superfoods. I made my first green smoothie for breakfast this morning with spinach, banana, apple, and raw almond butter and almond milk. After reading your blog now I need kale! I’ve enjoyed your blog. You rock!
