I love this bread!

ingredients:

-2 cups almonds

-1 cup flax seed

- 1/4 cup cinnamon (depending on how much cinnamon you like)

-2 apples (add more if you like a lot of apples!)

-water

Put Almonds and flax seed into food processor until it is pretty ground up. Add cinnamon and apples, keeping the apple chunky is a nice addition. Slowly add water while apple is blending until it is a pretty watery texture. Spread on teflex sheet and dehydrate 105 degrees for 12 hours.

these are also heavenly. super filling it took me a while to eat 2 of them!

ingredients

-1 cup soaked nuts

-3 or 4 soaked dates

- 1/4-1/2 cup flax seeds

- leftover veggie/fruit  pulp from juice. (use sweet ones like apples, carrots, pineapple, etc. i bet coconut would rock!)

put all in FP and form into patties. Place in dehydrator for 8-12 hours at 105. time will vary depending how big and thick/thin they are.

Blueberry Syrup

-5 soaked dates

- fresh blueberries (i bet strawberry.. or mango would be amazing!)

put in FP until liquid. add some of the date water to thin it out. After this sits it gets more stiff, so im trying to come up with a way to make this not happen. Add a little bit of Brown rice syrup to make it a little sweeter if necessary.

- 1 tbs olive oil

-1t dulse flakes

-1/4 cup water

Put in FP until thin mixture is formed. Spread on teflex sheet and dehydrate 105  degrees for 12 hours or until really crispy. Flip onto mesh after6 hours.

RAW DOG BISCUITS!!! April 11, 2010

These are awesome! my dog was drooling over them!!! I had to hide them far from his reach!

Ingredients:

- 3/4 cup Pumpkin Seeds (pumpkin seeds are awesomee for dogs! helps with worms and digestion!)

- 1.5 cups Sunflower seeds (hulled of course!)

- 1/4cup Flax Seeds

- 2 tbsp Molasses

- Garlic Powder

- Olive Oil

- Water

So of course when i was making these my Italian-ness kicked in and i didn’t measure the seeds, but thats my estimate. i did measure the molasses however :)

Throw it all into the FP and about 2 tbspn oil. Sprinkle a little bit of garlic powder in the mixture, this of course is optional. Add water in small amounts until a sticky dough is formed.

I made individual shapes, but i think it would be WAY easier to just spread it out on a teflex sheet and cut it once it is done.

Put it in the Dehydrator at 105 for 12 hours.

Cut them into small pieces. They are pretty rich the doggies will gobble them all up!

Potato Chips!!! April 11, 2010

These are supper crunchy and fulfill my addiction to Kettle Chips!

Ingredients

-4 potatoes

-salt

-water

-Olive Oil or Hemp Oil

Optional:

-cayenne

-Apple Cider Vinegar

Slice the potatoes with a mandolin on the thinnest blade.

Soak Potatoes for 2.5-3 hours

rinse well.

I divided up the chips in three bowls to make different flavors. The first bowl, which had the least amount (prob. 1 potato), i put ACV(1/4 cup), oil (3tbs), and salt (put a little extra, the potatoes absorb it) . The second bowl had oil, salt, and cayenne pepper, and the third had just oil and salt.

Put on mesh sheets in dehydrator at 105 degrees for 12 hours.

What i noticed, is that the chips with the ACV did not change a darker color, and the vinegar was not that noticeable in the taste. I think that to prevent discoloration it can be used in small amounts with out taste being left behind. if you want a salt and vinegar taste i would suggest adding more to the mixture.

Black Bread! April 6, 2010

The crispness depends on how long your willing to wait, and how thick you make your slices. i suggest making them thin because they are soo filling!

Ingredients:

-1 chopped apple

-1 chopped summer squash

-1 cup sunflower seeds

-2 cups super ground flax

- 1 cup water

- poppy seeds

-salt

Put sunflower seeds and water in the FP until it is pretty smooth. Add the apple until smooth. Add the squash until smooth. Put in your poppy seeds and briefly blend.  Poor the mixture into a mixing bowl and add ground flax and some salt to your taste. Mix it up well with wooden spoon folding it over and things of the sort. Spread it onto teflex sheet and shape it into a square. Put it into the dehydrator 105 degrees for 5 hours. Flip it over onto the mesh sheets. let “cook” another 5 hours, or until it is soft but a little crisp. Cut it into slices and place back into the dehydrator for another hour or so, depending on how you like the texture of your bread!
